Baby food, Talking, Work and Immunisations

The last couple of weeks have been eventful for us. I started Little A on purees which she loved. Then she said mum and today she had her 4 month immunisations done. I waited till she was 4 and a half months due to dr avalibility. Lets start with the purees. I started Little A on apple puree and the face she made when she first tasted it was classic, then after a few spoonfuls she loved it. Then we tried pear which she doesn't seem to be a fan of. Sweet Potato came next and she loved that. Pumpkin was the first one she smiled at when first tasting. The latest one we tried was avacado which she didn't seem to mind. It is so much fun making Little A's food :D I was over the moon when her first word was mum. She said mum mum mum, my partner and I were stunned. She has found her voice and is now squealing and cooing. She tries to say words and she loves to 'talk' to you. I have gone back to work this week for two days. It was so hard to leave her at daycare for those two days. Little A had a ball though, she played, drank, slept and generally had fun, so it's all good. The fourth month injections are the worst so far. The sounds that came out of her drove me to tears. It had to be done of course, but she cried so bad. I gave her a feed and that calmed her down then I knew all was good when she smiled at me. Then after we left the doctors she fell asleep and Little A has been great since.

Book Review - Throne of Glass #1 Throne of Glass - Sarah J. Maas

Throne of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1)Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a really great read. The storyline flowed well and made you want to continue reading. The characters were interesting and endearing. I liked how the author fed you tibits along the way without giving too much away. I still don't know if my suspsion is correct reguarding the main characters ancestory. I only started this book a day agao and I couldn't put it down. I can't wait for the next book in the series. Well done Sarah J Maas!

Book Review - Sons of the Zodiac #3 Warrior Betrayed - Addison Fox

Warrior Betrayed (Sons of the Zodiac, #3)Warrior Betrayed by Addison Fox
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first fiction book I have mangaed to read in 5 months of maternity leave. It is book 3 in a series but I was desperate to read something so I picked it out of the shlef. I haven't read the first two books yet but after reading this one i know I am going to hunt them down. There are hardly any spoilers and I don't know what happened to the other characters. The writing style was clear and fast paced. The storyline was clever and I liked how the author didn't used all the major well known players of the Greek Panthenon of Gods/Goddesses. The use of the Zodiac was well done and I really enjoed this book. Definatly worth a read!

Back to work

Time flys so fast!! Next week i am back to work. I am looking forward to it, yet a l
ittle aprehensive as well. I've only had five months off give or take, but that is a life time in the bookworld. I'm also going to miss Little A very much as well- lucky I am only working a couple days a week to get used to it.
It will be nice to read again, I generally read on the train so I can get up to speed with everything that's new. On baby news, I have learnt that when you get to the end of baby wipes you need a cloth to dry your child's bum. The last wipes are always very wet.

Muppets - Blast from the past

Muppets - another word for awesome!

It was so fantastic to introduce my daughter to the muppets via the new movie. My partner and I watched 'The Muppets' today with Little A and she loved it.

It was such a blast from the past seeing Kermit, Miss Piggy, Gonzo, Fuzzie and so many other characters on screen again. I used to watch the muppets on TV when I was a child and it has stayed with me through out my life. The music scores, the songs, the characters - all twigged warm funny memories for me.

I am so glad we got to share that with Little A and when she grows older, I will make sure she knows the laughs that the muppets give you and hopefully she will have warm fuzzy memories too.

It was good to see that they had updated the muppets cast as well. A new character Walter, was introduced as the person who brought the muppets back together. He has been a fan for most of his life ( a bit obsessed lol ) and faints when he meets Kermit.

One of my favourite characters is Eighties Robot. I nearly fell over laughing when it went into modem mode. My partner laughed hard as well and said not many kids these days would even know what that meant, which is true. Though I'm not sure whose bright idea it was to get Eighties Robot to drive all over the country though....

All in all we enjoyed this movie and are can't wait to show Little A more.
